Speeding Operation - Thorne

Over the past week we have conducted a number of speeding operations in and around Thorne and Moorends following speeding concerns from residents who attend our regular community engagement meetings.

We take speeding concerns seriously and when time allows, focus on those areas alongside attending our regular hotspots.

On Plantation Road in Thorne in 42 vehicles were monitored, 3 drivers were dealt with for contravening the speed limit.

On King Edward Road in Thorne a further 18 vehicles were monitored, on this occasion, no drivers contravened the speed limit.

On Marshland Road in Moorends, 32 vehicles were monitored, 3 drivers were dealt with for contravening the speed limit.

We will continue conducting regular speed checks in and around the East of Doncaster and ask that you continue to report your speeding concerns to us. 

We are also aware of recent reports regarding the Thorne Retail Park being used by those who wish to drive in an anti-social manner - 2 driver's this week have already been dealt with due to the manner of their driving - we'll continue to monitor and feedback the results.
