BARNSLEY CADET RECRUITMENT

There are a limited number of cadet spaces remaining in Barnsley to start in September 2025.

South Yorkshire volunteer police cadets represent the force at community events and participate in a variety of activities and formal training, as well as learning about various roles within the police.

General recruitment is closed but SYP is offering a limited number of young people another opportunity to apply to become a police cadet from September 2025 and be based in Barnsley. 

 

  • Young People need to be 15 years old by 31 August 2025 and no older than 17 years old on 31 May 2026
  • Be able to attend a suitability interview before on Monday 21 July or Tuesday 22 July 2025
  • Be able to attend an induction day on 31July 2025 or 18 August 2025
  • Be able to attend First Aid Training on 19 August 2025 or 21 August 2025
  • Must live in South Yorkshire
