Warrant executed in Moorends

A section 23 misuse of drugs act warrant was executed on Tuesday afternoon at an address in Moorends.

On entering the property four rooms were lit up like the northern lights!

Each room contained a substantial cannabis grow, approximately 100 plants in total across all four rooms.

Following the property's electrical supply being made safe it was then down to our forensic team to enter and take a number of evidential dibs and dabs.

The cannabis setup was then dismantled, equipment removed and the cannabis plants were disposed.

Nobody was present within the address and forensic enquiries are on-going to identify those involved.

Thank you to the local community for raising their concerns with regards to drug use and drug supply throughout the community of Moorends. Without your concerns, intelligence and local knowledge we wouldn't be able to gain the information we need to supply the magistrates court for a warrant.

This is another small step towards disruption of drug links within the local area and we will continue to clamp down on such behaviour.

If you have any information regarding drugs in your area, you can report this to us using our web site or anonymously via Crimestoppers.
